Ohm's Resistor 1.0 is now available in the iTunes store: Click Here to purchase Compute Voltages, Resistance, or Amperage in a touch with Ohm’s Resistor! Not just the resistance value like other resistance calculators. Need a resistor? Simply enter a desired voltage, the current drawn, as well as the supplied voltage, and Ohm’s resistor will tell you what kind of resistor you need. Do you need to know how much of a voltage drop is produced by a certain resistor in a circuit? Enter the Amps drawn and the voltage in, as well as the resistor value, and Ohm’s resistor will tell you. Calculate Voltage In, Voltage Out, Resistance or Current instantly by entering the appropriate values. The selected field is updated instantly when you enter a value. Change the resistor value by simply touching a band and the selected value will be updated to match the new resistor value. Need to know what would happen to amperage if you increased the voltage in or decreased the resistor value? Simply select Amps and then change the resistor value, the voltage, or both. The Amperage value changes instantly to reflect your changes. Need help with resistors in your electronics or Physics class? Ohm’s Resistor makes a great tool for studying. Ohm’s Resistor also works great for and analyzing circuits in homework. Also doubles as a resistor table! Just touch resistor bands to change the color, and the value in ohms is printed below!
iRelativity 1.0 is now available in the iTunes store: Click Here to purchase Ever had the need to quickly compute relativistic time and length dilation factors for your next inter-stellar journey right on your iPhone? This app offers quick and easy computation of special relativity factors as a function of an objects velocity, and returns an observer's viewed time and length of the object along with the dilation factor. If you have never had any experience with special relativity before, prepare to have your mind bent around what you thought was reality. At the turn of the twentieth century, Albert Einstein, a 26 year old patent clerk, published his special theory of relativity and showed that time and space are in fact not as constant as we once thought. As an object approaches the speed of light, it travels through time faster than objects moving slower than it, and its length is also contracted in the direction of travel. All of these properties are bent around the unchanging speed of light. For example, if a spacecraft were to travel at 99% of the speed of light for one year into space, it would travel 110 years into the future of the earth, while only passing through time one year in it's own time flow. At the speeds humans are capable of traveling at, the effects of special relativity are not even noticeable without very precise and expensive scientific equipment. This seems like science fiction, but in fact it has been proven to be true over and over again using numerous experiments involving atomic clocks on aircraft and spacecraft. When an atomic clock is placed onboard an airliner, it clearly shows that the aircraft actually moved through time at a different rate than the rest of the earth. Use this new app to play around with the effects of special relativity without having to know the math. Of course, the Lorentz dilation equation is displayed right on the main view and the values are filled in as you use the app. Impress your friends and family with this app and show them how time travel into the future is in fact entirely possible, all right on your iPhone! Not convinced of how cool this app is yet? Screen Shot of iRelativity:
